Helping to preserve our historic battlefield and the other related sites and buildings in and around Worcester
The society has launched an initiative to preserve and to assist in the conservation of the historic battlefield at Worcester.
Along with activities associated with the documenting and recording of any and all changes that may be made to the site of the battle, including any related buildings or sites, the society is planning to compile a comprehensive record of the whole of the landscape associated with the English Civil Wars in the city of Worcester and the surrounding countryside.
The Battle of Powick Bridge that took place in September 1642, will form the starting point in historic time for the record.
The society is seeking to appoint, from within its membership, a number of Battlefield Wardens who will work together to produce this record and enable the society to lobby those authorities who can help support the preservation of our historic past.
If you are not a member of the society but want to volunteer to assist in this new initiative then please contact the society.
